A brand strategy and design studio in Ohio. Visual identities, packaging, merchandise, signage, interiors. Work for the people who make things worth believing in.

Background

Cult Dept. was founded in 2024 by Adam Sattler after years spent in-house as Creative Director for a company running multiple spirits and beer brands alongside a network of bars and restaurants. That experience shaped everything about how we work now. We know what it's like to live with a brand system day after day, to stretch it across menus and merchandise and signage and social, to find out what holds up and what falls apart.

Today we take on a small number of clients each year. The limited roster is intentional. It means we can go deep. Full systems with room to grow.

Approach

We start with a conversation, with questions. What do you actually need? What are you building toward? What do people believe about you, and what do you want them to believe?

The answers shape everything. The identity, the packaging, the signage, the way a room feels when you walk in. It all comes from the same place.

We build systems that hold together. Things that work on day one and still work three years later when you're opening a second location or launching a new product line. Clear, consistent, built to last.

A note on the work: The projects shown here reflect our creative process and capabilities but may not always represent the final direction or version used.
